Assessment

You are assessed according to the Australian Curriculum for Design Technology.

Currently, the weighting is:

Safety Test (in class) 30%

Design Folio (including evaluation) 30%

Product 20%

Investigation task (homework)20%

As you can see- the product is weighted less than the design folio and the safety test- 
so PLEASE-
put your full attention into your design process 
and remember your safety process in each and every step!

The Design Folio is assessed on the following:

·       Your ability to design something UNIQUE (no flowers, crosses, hearts or infinity rings)

·       Your ability to make something PERSONAL to your client (stars and hearts and other universal symbols bore me)

The Evaluation is assessed on the following:

·      How well you can justify the suitability of your design for your client
·      How well you have used your time
·     How well can critically evaluate your problem solving abilities

The Product is assessed on the following:

·       Your ability to trial, investigate, learn and USE NEW TECHNIQUES (I won’t be happy if you just saw something out this time- show me something new you’ve learnt!)

·        Your ability to PROBLEM SOLVE (make something exciting- go that extra step to make it interesting, give me something surprising, clever, creative and awesome!)
·      The wearability of the work (is it strong, stable, functional and wearable?)
·      The finesse of which it was made (is it clean, straight, smooth, exact and precise)
·      The finish of the work (was it sanded and polished to a high shine)
·      The accuracy (does it match the design)
